Webmaster's 7th Season Division VAA Poll 2005-2006

Rank (last rank) School Record Comments
(1)Hillcrest Christian GH13-7 (5-0)Hillcrest Christian GH remains the favorite in Div VAA and again has made playoffs. The Eagles go about six deep, which is good in Div VAA. Rutherford and Halliday continue having great seasons. They only have New Roads as remaining team with a chance to beat them. Tough, playoff-style OT loss to RHP 69-67 on Saturday.
(2)Hesperia Christian15-6 (6-0)Wins over Victor Valley Christian and Antelope Valley Christian. Defense has been the key to success this season. Are playoff bound.
(3)Pacific Hills16-4 (1-3)This team is very good but just had a rough week. They were first team to qualify for CIF post season tourney. Lost to Windward as Cedric Lattimer had a big night against them. Beat Pilibos but lost to LA Baptist. Still have some tough games in their league but they will be tough to beat in the playoffs.
(7)Capistrano Valley Christian17-5 (7-0)Good week for the Eagles as they beat Brethren Christian, Whitney and then upset St Margaret 41-40 thanks to last minute effort by Zach Brogdon. In playoffs with their seventeen wins. Will be a very tough opponent.
(4)Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley16-1 (6-0) Only loss is to Woodcrest Christian by 3 points. They are beating their opponents 72-39 but their schedule has not been real tough. No one left on their schedule to beat them. Playoff bound in first year in Div VAA.
(6)Tarbut v Torah14-2 (3-2)Playoff bound again this season. Beat Orangewood and lost again to their arch rival Fairmont Prep. Jared Bruss is scoring well when their other stars are off. Saddle Back Valley Christian only team left with a chance to beat them.
(8)La Verne Lutheran15-4 (5-0)High scoring team (61 PPG). MacElroy is lighting up the scoreboard getting 22 against Upland Christian in 38-32 win. Also beat Cal Lutheran. 64-43. In playoffs already and leading Metro League at the moment. Only Upland Christian left that can beat them.
(5)Upland Christian14-3 (3-1)Again qualified for playoffs. Lost tough game this week to La Verne Lutheran. Actually MacElroy with 22 points did most of the damage. Only team left on schedule with ability to beat them is Metro League leader, Lutheran La Verne. Only losses were a 17 point loss to Arrowhead Christian, a loss to Western Christian and loss to La Verne Lutheran 38-32.
(9)Holy Martyrs14-7 (5-4)They always make the playoffs and will again this year. Lost to Providence 64-61 this past week and then lost to Viewpoint by 3. Tough three games left with Buckley twice and Providence.
(11)St. Anthony11-11 (3-3)Presently are in third in Camino League at 3-2. Beat St Monica and Bosco Tech (from a forfeit earlier in season)this week. Then lost to Cathedral again 59-46. They need to stay in third or get one more win to make playoffs. Remaining games are with St Paul (7-13), Cantwell Sacred Heart (4-15), St Monica (9-10) , Mary Star (11-10). They have already lost to Cathedral twice and Mary Star this season for their three league losses. Saints should make playoffs.
(13)Liberty Christian14-6 (5-0)Made playoffs. Beat Eastside Christian this week 69-58 in OT. Also beat Bethel Baptist and Lighthouse Christian. Only Eastside Christian left on schedule with chance to beat them.
(10)La Sierra Academy13-3 (4-0)Only lost to Upland Christian by 1 point and to Loma Linda Academy twice. Good team but not yet an elite in Div VAA. Beat CSDR this week. Only Sherman Indian and CSDR left on schedule with possibility of beating them. Schedule is not strong which may hamper them in the playoffs for which they are already qualified.
(14)Ribet Academy8-12 (2-3)They have 5 games left, including one with RHP, New Roads and Community Harvest. Only team among RHP, Community Harvest and themselves in Harbor with a chance to make playoffs with 12 wins. Otherwise they must finish second or third in Harbor. Will be a photo finish in the Harbor League.
(12)Rolling Hills Prep5-14 (0-4)The Huskies are on the verge of elimination. But played like Division champs Saturday versus Hillcrest Christian in 69-67 OT win. They must finish second or third in the Harbor League. They lost to New Roads but beat Pilibos. They have New Roads, Com Harvest, Ribet, AGBU and finish season against Price. Mathematically (very difficult math LOL) they can finish in the Harbor League 4-4 winning all four remaining league games. Was going to move them down list further but last night's game makes me think they might just make it in to playoffs.
(15)Eastside Christian10-5 (3-1) Only five losses are to Tarbut v Torah, Delphi Academy. Liberty Christian, Capo Valley Christian and Riverside Christian. Schedule is weak minus five games. Should get 12 wins for playoffs. Only team left on schedule that can beat them is Liberty Christian.
(16)Saddleback Valley Christian10-9 (2-2) Not sure if they are playoff bound but I think they can find two more wins this year. Easy game left with Southlands Christian but then must find one more win.
(18)Community Harvest6-10 (2-3) Community Harvest is making one last stab at making playoffs by trying to finish third in the Harbor League. They will need help to do it. They cannot get 12 wins with remaining three games to Ribet, RHP and New Roads. Must finish in top three of Harbor.
(NR)Santa Clarita Christian11-6 (4-1) Will make playoffs with 12 wins plus finish in top three of Heritage. Only Hillcrest Christian left that can beat them. Even if they have rough bunch of games, they have sure win with Vasquez to get 12 wins.

Other teams to watch:
Laguna Blanca 9-3 (5-0), Newbury Park Adventist 9-2 (9-2), Boron 9-8 (3-2) and California School for Deaf, Riverside 4-3 (0-2) and Joshua Springs 8-9 (3-2)
